INDONESIA: BUDDHIST COLLEGE OFFICALS VISITED WBU

Ven. Budi Utomo Ditthisampanno, the Principal of Smaratungga Buddhist College, Indonesia and a group of college officials paid a visit to the World Buddhist University Centre, Bangkok, on January 21st B.E. 2558 (2015). The purpose of the visit was to discuss a cooperation between the two organizations on Buddhist education.

Ven. Budi Utomo, who is a renowned Buddhist scholar in Indonesia and who frequently attended (del) WBU conferences, also proposed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Smaratungga Buddhist College and the World Buddhist University. Smaratungga Buddhist College is a central Jalla Institute that offers Bachelor and Master Degrees on Buddhism educations to Indonesian students. Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world.
