Mission Statement
To gather and assemble curricula and training programs of Buddhist studies programs from various resources around the world, and from research results in developing curricula and new training programs that incorporate Buddhist principles in many vocational streams.
Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives of the Institute of Training and Curriculum are to:
1. Research ways of applying Buddhist principles to training and curricula appropriate for a variety of contexts.
2. Prepare training programs and curricula based on Buddhist principles.
3. Develop curricula based on research results.
4. Promote learning and training activities according to UNESCO principles of (i) learning to know; (ii) learning to do; (iii) learning to live in peace with others; and (iv) learning to be.
Strategies
Phase 1: B.E. 2546-2547 (2003-2004)
Preparation of concept paper and documents based on the results of Training and curriculum Development Group Discussion at the World Fellowship of Buddhist Symposium on "Thailand and the World Buddhist University" held in March 2542 (1999).
Phase 2: B.E. 2548-2552 (2005 - 2009)
1. Collect educational materials from various sources for curriculum development.
2. Apply the results of research into new ways of integrating Buddhist knowledge and wisdom into training programs and curricula that might not normally include it (for example, engineering or business administration).
3. Set up the academic teams for developing training programs and curricula in specific disciplines.
4. Organize the training activities according to UNESCO principles mentioned above applied to Buddhist materials.
